This glittering Highland Ball, one of Scotland's most eagerly-awaited social events, is held to celebrate and support the Great Wilderness Challenge.

The Great Wilderness Challenge (GWC) is Scotland's most enduring and spectacular annual fundraising event. Since 1986 the GWC has attracted thousands of hill walkers and runners from around the country to Wester Ross to tackle some of Scotland's wildest and most stunning landscapes. To date, the event has raised more than £1.6 million for charities across the country.

Harper Macleod, the Tulloch Group and Odgers Ray & Berndtson, long-term supporters of the GWC, came together in 2002 to organise the first Great Wilderness Challenge Charity Ball. Since then this dazzling evening has raised more than £89,000 for the GWC's charities.
